Payment Plan
- Can I arrange for more time to make the payment? I cannot pay right now.
- Please contact the customer service department of the collection agency right away! Issues can be agreed on and usually additional time is possible.
- What type of payment plan can I make?
-
There are several options. I can pay the invoice during several months using, for example, monthly instalments. The size of the instalments can also be agreed on and they can differ in value from month to month.
If the case is of a larger private debt, a payment plan can even be made for multiple years. If the case is of a smaller payment, for example a municipal day-care fee, the payment plan can be made for a few months. However, it is not feasible to divide smaller invoices of only a few tens of EUR in value into several small instalments, as the payment plan costs will exceed the invoice total.
You can suggest a payment plan yourself, or ask for help with creating one from the collection agency’s customer service department.
If you have received a demand for payment from Lindorff, please contact our customer service department. You can create a payment plan also online using your banking access codes to log into the My Lindorff Internet service.
- Can a payment plan be made for all types of invoices?
- A payment plan can be made for nearly all types of invoices. The most important thing is to agree on the instalment amounts and schedule in a manner where you can adhere to them.
- What does it cost to make a payment plan?
- Lindorff charges €10 for creating one payment plan. In addition, a processing fee of € 5 per is charged for every instalment made in the payment plan.
- Will it ruin my credit if I make a payment plan?
-
A payment default entry is not made for agreeing on a payment plan. In contrast, agreeing on a payment plan is a way to avoid the collection from continuing and a payment default entry that results from a district court ruling.
However, if you wait too long and don't make a payment plan until the invoice has already been transferred to the court process using a subpoena application, creating the payment plan will no longer prevent a ruling and the consequent payment default entry in your credit report.
- Can I make a new payment plan if I am unable to manage the first one?
-
If you do not adhere to the agreed instalments and due dates, agreeing on a new payment plan may not be possible. The old payment plan is automatically dissolved and collection of the remaining debt balance is continued. Therefore, please remember to make the payment plan as one that you can live with.
If you know in advance that you cannot pay as agreed, it is worth asking what can be done in the issue. Be sure to contact the collection agency well before the due date of the instalment.
- Will an entry be made in my credit report, if I can’t adhere to the agreed payment plan?
-
If you do not adhere to the agreed instalment amounts or due dates, the payment plan is automatically dissolved. A payment default entry is not yet made from the dissolution of a payment plan, but collection on the remaining debt balance will continue.
An entry may be made in the credit report, if the collection advances into the legal phase. When a ruling is sought from the court that confirms liability for paying the debt, the ruling will result in a payment default entry in your credit record.

- I have several unpaid invoices. Can I make one payment plan for them?
- You can agree on a payment plan with Lindorff for all of your debts being handled by Lindorff. Technically invoices from only one company can be included in a single payment plan, but you can still agree on a payment schedule and instalments that suit your situation with a single phone call.
- Can instalments that have been agreed in with the collection agency be paid in advance? How does that affect collection costs?
- Instalments can be paid in advance. Similarly, the balance of the debt can also be paid at once. The earlier you pay off your debt, the less penalty interest you have to pay. In addition, costs incurred from the payment plan are reduced. If you have agreed on a payment plan with Lindorff and you end up making a payment exceeding the agreed amount or even paying off the entire debt balance, please remember to notify Lindorff's customer service department of doing so. This prevents any misunderstandings over the issue.
- What happens if I do not pay a payment plan instalment? Can the due date still be postponed or only a part of the instalment be paid?
-
If you do not adhere to the agreed instalment amounts and due dates, the payment plan is automatically dissolved and the remaining debt balance continues to be collected on. The instalment amounts cannot be changed after the fact. The same applies to agreeing on new due dates.
If you know in advance that you cannot pay as agreed, it is worth asking what can be done in the issue. Be sure to contact the collection agency well before the due date of the instalment.
- Why is my income not enquired in conjunction with compiling a payment plan?
-
A solution for temporary payment difficulties, a payment plan, can be compiled to extend the credit period of an overdue invoice in the form of monthly instalments.
When agreeing on a payment plan, the customer's income is not separately surveyed. The agreement is based on the customer's personal assessment of his/her ability to pay the debt over the next months. Make sure your payment plan is feasible for you!
Voluntary debt restructuring aims at achieving a comprehensive solution covering all of the debtor's debts, and this decision is based on a payment facility calculation. The payment facility calculation contains a detailed specification of the debtor's income and expenses.
